Arion

When Demeter was searching for her daughter Persephone, she unwillingly captivated Poseidon who began pursuing her.

In an attempt to evade him, she turned into a mare and hid among other equines. But her divine beauty could not be concealed, and Poseidon saw the alluring mare and proceeded to mate with her.

Arion was born from this union and later became the steed of heroes such as Hercules and Adrastus.

According to the Roman poet Sextus Propertius, he also possessed the ability to speak.
